For more than ten years, I lived in the world of elite sport - as captain of the Austrian Lacrosse National Team, competing at World Championship level. High performance wasn't theoretical. It was daily reality: pressure, rigour, discipline, and the constant need to motivate others  without money, status, or infrastructure.

Later, I spent eleven years in top-level business consulting as an Associate Partner at McKinsey. I learned how organisations think, how leaders make decisions, and how teams collapse or perform when pressure rises.

Across both worlds, I kept seeing the same truth: the leaders who build the most don't choose between humanity and performance. They understand they are the same thing.

Warmth is the quality that makes performance sustainable. It strengthens relationships, builds commitment, and creates the emotional safety required for accountability, resilience, and exceptional results.
